Ministry Stories
Years ago Jay started attending one of our teen centers and she was never interested in religion. I have shared with her the heart of Youth For Christ and no matter where she was at in her journey she was always welcome at our centers.
Here we are years later, Jay and I were catching up and chatting about all the exciting things going on in her life including the upcoming drama play at her school. Jay was nervous about trying out and in the middle of our conversation she said "Cassie pray for me, I hope to get the lead roll." "Pray for me"; this phrase caught me off guard, I said "Jay, I am always praying for you" she then followed up with a thank you!
This conversation may seem small to others but to me this was a big deal! Jordan wanted nothing to do with religion but is now asking for prayer. I believe this is a testament of how we plant seeds in our students by living and breathing Godly values. Please join me in prayer for Jay for not only her drama play but to continue opening her heart for Jesus.

If you have not visited one of our teen centers in action, you really must do so!
Walking into the Bremerton Center is amazing as you immediately notice that the students who are there feel at home! They were all flocking around Cassie and laughing together and it felt like I had walked into a family gathering. It was so amazing to see a group of different students from different grades and backgrounds all laughing together and enjoying themselves, clearly comfortable together. I couldn't help but smile and feel so grateful for the community that exists at the Bremerton Center!
Jan and Chuck, two amazing volunteers, made sure I had some nachos before getting back to taking care of the kids. Everyone at the Bremerton Center gets nachos when Jan and Chuck are around!
Before I left, I had a chance to talk to a student who is an artist; they were so excited to show me their book full of sketches of characters they has created. "Ok, ok, look at one more page!" They kept saying, "I am really proud of this one!" It was amazing to see not only how talented the student was, but how proud they were of the art they were creating.
If you ever get a chance to visit our teen centers, you have to do it! Each center is a room full of laughs, volunteers caring for students, and if you time it right, you just might get nachos!
