StoryLetter September2024
Summer is officially over! While many people may miss the warm weather, our YFC leaders are excited to get back into the school year and catch up with our teens.
A new school year means we will be seeing a lot of new faces at our teen centers; it means new friendships, and more opportunities to share the gospel with youth.
Ministry Stories
Wow, this summer was amazing! We are super stoked about heading into the new school year.
The Bremerton Center kicked off the year with an awesome back-to-school block party. We got to hang out with over 40 teenagers, listen to their summer stories, and catch up with so many teens we didn’t get to see over the break.
It was incredible to see how excited the students were to have us back this year! Mack even said, “Hey, where were you on the first day of school? I didn’t think you guys were coming back this year!”
I am so excited to see how God will move in the lives of kids this year!

James is a student who quickly found a second home at The Next Door. He was captivated by the sense of community, fun activities, and the warm environment. Whether he was competing in a game, learning something new, or just spending time with friends, James was always eager to return.
James’ enthusiasm didn’t go unnoticed by his parents, they saw how much The Next Door meant to James and how it had become a place where he could grow, have fun, and feel supported.
Wanting to give back to the place that had given so much to their son, James’ parents made a generous donation. They gifted The Next Door a valuable and rare gaming device.
We love when parents get involved with their teens and show an interest in their lives. It makes a world of a difference for our students.

The Underground opened two years ago, and we have had kids come and go; some have moved away and some have stayed with us. Being present and being here has been such a joy to see the kids grow up.
Many of our 6th graders are now freshmen in high school. Although these kids are a lot taller and older now, they are always happy to see us in public and will often rush to give us hugs.
One of these students is Omar; he regularly attends The Underground. Recently I found out Omar has been having conversations with our leaders about God. Omar went from not knowing Jesus to searching for Him, all because we have been blessed with an opportunity to consistently show him God’s love.
Thank God for allowing us to be a light for these teens and plant seeds even though we do not always see them grow.
